Description

Best-selling author Rick Riordan presents the conclusion to Tehlor Kay Mejia's Paola Santiago trilogy with the biggest foe yet: the Bogeyman.

After defeating two fearsome ghosts, Paola Santiago is determined to rescue her friend Dante, who has been imprisoned by some unknown force. Relying on her wits, training from the Ninos de la Luz, and the support of her best friend, Emma, Pao makes it into the void. Once there she must face down not just one but two enemies: El Cucuy, the bogeyman . . . and someone even scarier who looks a lot like Pao herself.

This third exciting journey into Mexican folklore has our lovable, intrepid protagonist making discoveries both wonderous and fearsome.

Endorsed by Rick Riordan, author of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, now a hit series on Disney+.

Praise for Rick Riordan Presents: Paola Santiago and the Sanctuary of Shadows

"While love is often depicted as the means to individually defeat evil, this story conveys a resonant message about the power of broader community support. As she battles monsters, Pao also privately explores her sexual identity and romantic feelings for Emma, who is queer. A brave adventure with meaningful depth."--Kirkus Reviews
